My credit is bad I have a free iphone and want to activate it at AT&T will they allow this?
I have a free iphone and want to activate it. I am worried they will deny me an AT&T phone plan when I am at the store b/c of my poor credit. I have this from mistakes in the past which have been corrected but they wont know this. Will they allow me a service plan or will I just get embarrassed in front of strangers?

iPhone credit check for existing AT&T customers?
I’ve been with AT&T/Cingular for about 5 years now, and I’m about to get the iPhone, but I was wondering something. I know that a credit check is in the set-up procedure… but do existing customers have to go through it? If so, why? They obviously know our credit history if we’ve been paying our bills for X-number of years.
The reason I ask is because my mom has really good credit, but she just co-signed on a big loan for my brother… and she already failed to co-sign a loan I need for school, so I doubt she’ll pass the credit check for Apple…
Do existing customers need to go through the credit check process when setting up their iPhone through iTunes?
